Introduction to Yachting Course
The aim of this module is to introduce you to the wonderful world of sailing. Held over 3 days and two nights, while sailing around the glorious Whitsunday Islands. The course is designed to introduce a beginner to the world of sailing and is certified IYT course.
The course duration is 3 days and 2 nights liveaboard on Eureka II with departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Course Content
- An free pre-course online training component completed by the student before arriving
- Starts with a crew induction regarding all the safety equipment and how to use it correctly
- Nautical terms, the parts of the vessel and how the rig and sails are operated
- Pre-departure checks/mooring line handling and vessel departure techniques
- Correct anchoring procedures including mooring handling
- Safety drills such as Man Overboard
- Helming, basic sail setting
- Introduction to the nautical chart

Eureka II courses start 9:00am Mondays and finishes 4:00pm on Wednesday and again on Thursdays at 09:00am and finishes at 4:00pm on Saturday
